September 5, 2026 — the wheel, and quality of life
- Double or Nothing: after any run that earns coins, you can risk that run's earnings on a skill-based stop-the-needle wheel — green quarter doubles them, red keeps half. Once per run, no randomness. There's a full guide.
- The hooked-fish chain now strings out and swings naturally instead of bunching at the hook.
- A gold +$ counter shows your earnings live during the shooting phase.
- Mute button (top right) — your choice sticks between visits.
- Four new guides, including reaching 120 m and money per minute.
August 28, 2026 — the ocean got a face
- Full visual pass: gradient sky with drifting clouds, water that darkens with each depth band, light rays, ambient bubbles, and a proper seabed — sand, rocks and swaying seaweed — at the end of your line. Upgrading your line now visibly pushes the floor deeper.
- The brown rectangle is now an actual boat, with an actual fisherman.
- New share image and itch.io screenshots to match.
August 27, 2026 — take the game with you
- Embeddable version: any site can now embed the game via an iframe — the snippet is under "Embed this game on your site" on the home page.
- itch.io build published.
August 25, 2026 — launch
- How to Fish Online goes live: five fish across three depth bands, the dodge-hook-shoot loop, line and shotgun upgrades, saves in your browser.
- Guides section and About page.
- Free, no download, works on phones and Chromebooks.
