About
Hi, I'm Jay — a developer who likes small games with big physics.
Why this exists
In August 2026 a physics-fishing game blew up on Steam, and I loved the idea: fishing where the rod is only the beginning. But it needed a download, a PC, and a purchase. I wanted the same kind of chaotic fun in a form you can open on a phone, a Chromebook or a work laptop and be playing within three seconds.
So I built How to Fish Online: sink past the fish, hook a wobbling chain of them on the way up, then shoot them out of the sky for coins. It is free, it runs entirely in your browser, and there is nothing to install.
How it's built
- Engine: Phaser with Matter.js physics, written in TypeScript.
- Hosting: static files on Cloudflare — no game server, nothing to log in to.
- Your progress (coins, upgrades, deepest dive) lives in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device and I can't see it.
- Analytics and ads: I use Google Analytics to see how many people play and how long a run lasts, and Google AdSense to keep the lights on. Details in the privacy policy.
